Exam revisions – no reviews

Exam revisions – no reviews

This week will be spent mainly on revising for my big Old English exam this Thursday. I have to be able to do a translation from Old English to modern English, decline verbs and nouns correctly in their paradigms (don’t worry, I had no idea what a paradigm was before I started this class!) and recognize vowel and consonant changes, as well as knowing the historical and literary background for a lot of medieval texts. I had thought that I would be able to prepare some reviews in advance, but Christmas preparations, family stuff and other real life things happened, so there won’t be any reviews this week. I hope that won’t mean I will be blogging only for myself […]

Top Ten Tuesday (#3) – Top ten new-to-me-authors read in 2012

We are fast approaching the end of the year 2012 (and who knows – maybe even the end of the world :O)  Top Ten Tuesdays is a fun meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, where we share our excitement for books – either upcoming books or as this week, favorite books I’ve read by authors whose books I hadn’t read before. So without further ado: the Top Ten books by authors that were new to me and that I was most impressed by in 2012:   Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Review: Fury’s Kiss (Dorina Basarb #3) – Karen Chance

Review: Fury’s Kiss (Dorina Basarb #3) – Karen Chance

Fury’s Kiss is the third book in the Dorina Basarb series, and I have to say I’m very happy Dorina is back! She is one of those strong heroines, who can fight with the best of them, but who is still vulnerable enough to hug her best friend and be coddled when she’s feeling sad about something. She is also a no-nonsense woman, she knows what she wants, what she doesn’t want – and does her best to get her way – no matter who she’s up against.   Subscribe to Blog via Email Enter your email address to subscribe to this blog and receive notifications of new posts by email. Review: Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires #13) – Rachel Caine

Review: Bitter Blood (The Morganville Vampires #13) – Rachel Caine

Bitter Blood is the perfect continuation of The Morganville Vampires series. Claire is such a great heroine; she is smart, tough, courageous, loving and never gives up. Her friends are her new family, and it is quite a new adventure they are all facing in this story. Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

Review: Born of Silence (The League #5) – Sherrilyn Kenyon

The League series is always filled with surprises, amazing fights and a real love story. Born of Silence follows the other books in the series, and the characters from all the other books are present in this volume, to my great delight. There were a lot of new revelations in this book, and I felt so bad for Darling, it almost hurt to read about his childhood. Then, again after he was taken by the insurgents and nobody realized who he was, I have to admit my heart was breaking into a million pieces. I don’t know how he could get through that at all. Of course, Darling wasn’t completely sane after that for quite some time, but when he […]

Google+ follower gadget – for WordPress blogs as well!

Google+ follower gadget – for WordPress blogs as well!

As you may have noticed, I have a nice and shiny and new gadget on my blog – a gadget that shows the people who have me in circles on Google+, and I’m very happy about it. I was really upset to lose all of my GFC followers when I switched from Blogger to WordPress, but this might really help, since a lot of bloggers who use blogger also use G+. Feel free to add me to your circles if you use G+ 🙂 I found the extremely easy to use instructions at My Bloggerlab, it took me maybe one minute to install, because I needed to change the width a little bit since the gadget was a little bit […]
